First terms music

This term I have been learning about the elements of music and how they affect others. The musical elements are pitch, tempo, dynamics, beat, and rhythm.
To show this learning I created a soundscape based on a poem I wrote. It is called “Where does my heart lie” and it is about Akaroa.
I use the shakers to represent the dolphins making waves in the water. I use the drum and patted it quietly so that it sounded like quails hopping about. I used whistling to represent the blowing trees.
My soundscape is relational because I can use many elements in a musical soundscape and explain why I chose them and their intended impact.
Overall I am proud of my musical soundscape but I think that I could of done better.
This is link to the soundscape I made for my poem

Where is my happy place?

Where brown quails play hopscotch
in the shade of a summer's day.

Where the kauri wave to you
as you walk past in the morning sun.

Where the pohutukawa tree shows off its colours
when people are near.

Where the grass dances
in the summer breeze.

Where the dolphins perform
in the dark blue sea.

That's my happy place.

  1. It seems like you have learnt a lot you are very creative how you came up with different music instrumentals to make animal sounds.

  2. Very clever Matilda and a lovely poem; I knew exactly where your happy place was. Great work!
